RSPB bird seed explained

"Our seed and seed mixes only contain seeds that are beneficial for birds and that they are able to eat. We will never bulk out our seed mixes with cheap fillers such as wheat, red dari, dried peas and beans or other seeds that birds rarely eat. We add small amounts of wheat to our table mixes for house sparrows but never as a bulk ingredient. We tailor our mixes to feeding habits: Our feeder mix is perfect for birds who primarily use feeders such as the tit family. For ground feeders such as robins, blackbirds and dunnocks try our no grow ground mix, then there's our table mix for sparrows, finches, robins and the tit family.

Our premium Sunflower hearts are the best all round bird seed, they are highly nutritious and have no husk making it minimum effort for the birds and a no mess option for you. They feature in most of our mixes.

Smaller seed packs allow our customers to trial various mixes and find the best one that works for the birds in their area. After that we recommend buying in sacks for the best value. Remember the only food we endorse is our own RSPB bird food."
